Weymouth (Lyme Regis) Rideout

I was pleased with the number of bikes that turned up and supported us considering the bra run was on at the same time.
We left the Bristol Bridge Inn at just after 11am, and headed towards Weymouth stopping at the Albion Inn at Ashcot for breakfast and met up with more riders.
We were helped by Somerset Fire Brigade when leaving the Albion Inn, when they stopped and blocked traffic for us to exit safely. Thanks to them.
We then made our way towards Weymouth, but the closer we got the more it became obvious that we would have trouble parking, so we redirected to Lyme Regis, where we parked up on the sea front and spent about an hour and a half walking along the sea front and around the town. Before returning to the Bristol Bridge Inn Highbridge.
The weather was very kind to us and we all had a good time.
May I thank all those that supported the charity ride today, and for making it a great day out.

Minehead Rideout

A good trip down to visit Jane at the Harbour Cafe, Minehead.
The weather was good going down, but a little drizzle coming back.
We all had a good time and were made welcome by Jane and staff as always.
Steve Bell even met an old friend from London, on the way down, who he hadn't seen for years, he just happened to be stood on the side of the road, this must have been a chance in a million.
Steve Dowling must have been hungry as he kept pulling away from us on the way down.

Hover Run

Thanks to all those that attended today's charity ride for BARB (Burnham Rescue Hovercraft)
It was a brilliant ride in lovely weather. It was nice to see new faces in amongst the regulars.
May I thank Cartgate Services, Yeovil for their generosity in giving each rider a free hot drink.
The ride raised £180.00 including the raffle.
May I also thank the Marshal's that kept the run so smooth, with no hold ups, and we completed the run to schedule.
The ride took us from Highbridge to Taunton, then onto Ilminster, then for a break at Cartgate Services, before riding onto Shepton Mallet, and down through Cheddar Gorge, ending up at the Hovercraft Station on Burnham On Sea, sea front.
Hope to see you all at Asda in Highbridge next Saturday between 10am & 4pm for our meet the members day, and we will be doing a collection & selling merchandise for the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance.

Isle of Wight Weekend trip

The weather really let us down this year, but everyone had a great time, plenty of things to do, despite the weather. Thanks to all those that made it a great holiday.
Although the weather was terrible a few of the members braved the weather and went out for a ride.
Also thanks to Dorset and Oxford HOC members that joined us, and also said they had a great time.
The entertainment was exceptional, and for those that wanted a quieter time went and sat in the lounge and relaxed.
The food was excellent, and plenty of it, I think if you ask any of those that went would agree with this.
May we also thank Norton Grange, for their hospitality, and letting us collect for our charity.
May we thank everyone that gave to our charity, the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance, as promised the amount we collected was £235.30p.
We have all ready started planning for next year, so if anyone is interested the date will be May the 10th 2013, for more details please contact me ASAP.
Thank you.

Easter Fancy Dress Run to Minehead

Somerset Motorcycle Group would like to thank those that took part in todays charity ride out, for the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance.
It was a great run, all the car drivers realised what we were doing and gave way to us, so we could have a lovely smooth run to Minehead. Although the weather forecast was for rain we didn't get any. When we arrived at Minehead, people were waving to us as we rode along the seafront, and when we got to The Harbour Cafe, we were met by Jane and staff that made us very welcome, and her customers also made us feel welcome as we turned up.
With the riders help, along with the collection done around the harbour at Minehead, and Margaret & Jackie's (owners of The Bristol Bridge Inn) donation of the coffee and tea sales, we raised £128.62p

Treasure Hunt

Thanks to all those that attended our first charity ride for 2012.
The weather was great, and everyone that took part said how much they enjoyed it, and it was nice to see some new faces joining us, and we hope to see you again soon.
It was our annual Treasure hunt for The Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance. We raised £80 plus whatever was taken in the collection tin, which will be opened when we have done a few more ride outs for them.
Also thanks to all members that contributed towards the 3 hampers, that went to the first three places, and a big thank you to Morses Motorcycles, for their contribution.
Our next ride out is our Anunual Easter fancy dress run to Minehead on Sunday April the 8th.
